How to Kill a Mole?

Have you been having trouble with moles in the back yard or the garden? You will probably have noticed them, through the mess they leave behind. They are always scratching and lifting dirt, piling it up around. Once you have seen that, you know that a mole is to blame. But what should you do with it?

Killing a Mole: What Works
First of all, let’s start with what does not work. Gum does not eliminate moles, despite common belief. So you can try throwing around small pieces of chewing gum; however, the results will not be that great.

Rat poison does not work well, either. There is a good reason for that, too. Since moles eat worms and insects, they do not include rat poison within their dietary patterns. As a result, there is high likelihood you will be buying this stuff for nothing. Of course, you can experiment with these methods. And if you have rats and other pests infested, this might be helpful.

There is, nevertheless, mole poison that you can use. Bromethalin is used, because of its composition and smell. Everything points to worms and therefore it is a great treat for moles. Castor oil and zinc phosphide also succeed in eliminating moles, which makes them a helpful option for you to consider. You can check out other mole poisons in the market, too.

But above anything else, you should be focusing on the use of lethal traps. In this way, you can find the tunnels they dig and eliminate them for good. First off, you need to spot the tunnels and mess them up. This will give you an advantage for the following day. If the tunnels have been constructed from scratch again, then you have done a great job at spotting their shelter.

Once you know where they are, you can use these traps to kill a mole. Just make sure that you do not leave your scent there. It is best to use gloves while installing the trap. After having trapped the mole, you need to dispose of it carefully. Check for more moles within the following days, since in all likelihood there will not be just one in the garden.

Finally, you can always turn to the pros for a more insightful look at the problem. If you think you cannot handle it or if you want to be 100% sure that there are no moles left, then the experts will help you out. They will inspect the place and spot any suspicious movement. Then, they will eliminate the threat.

Bottom Line
Moles can be spotted because of the mess they create in the back yard or the garden. Once you have spotted them, you need to be careful and place traps or use mole poison. In this way, you will eliminate them for sure. So you will have a mole-free property in no time!
