What Are Some Ways to Kill a Fox in the Yard?

Foxes can be real pest whether in the wild or urban areas. At night, in the metropolitan areas foxes are known to be noisy, habitually rooting through the trash. They create havoc and are a nuisance to live with. In the rural areas, they are known to prey on domestic animals including chickens and lambs.

The animals can be controlled, but sometimes the control mechanism may not work efficiently. Other solutions such as killing it can be the best solution, which ensures that these witty creatures don't return. If killing the animal is a challenging task, find someone to do the job. In short hire a wildlife control expert. Some ways to kill a fox include:

Hunt the Fox
Hunting fox is considered a sport in some countries, but for some people, it is a way of controlling the damages caused by the irritating creature. All you need is firearm skills and a rifle. However, the method is only applicable in rural areas. Here no one stands a chance of getting hurt. The riffles can bring out other potential problems such as stray bullets which could kill pets or humans.

What’s vital is to kill the fox with only one perfect shot. It is because when they are injured foxes can be dangerous and unpredictable. However, fox hunting is rather expensive and time-consuming.

Fox Trap
Also, lethal traps are an efficient way of killing foxes. The traps usually kill the creature by gripping the body which later crushes it. Other homeowners prefer to use the snare. Old communities mostly used the method, and it still works perfectly. The traps need to be baited by meat to attract the fox. Although at times pets like cat and dogs tend to eat it. Therefore it is essential to consider the perfect timing and positioning of the trap.

Fox Poison
Another method to kill this witty creature is by using fox poison. However, this is the worst way to deal with the problem. Before using poison is essential to understand the unknown implications which can be hefty. The poison takes a long time before taking effect, giving it a long and lingering death. The fox may become unpredictable and crazier due to pain. The toxic may also not work since some foxes metabolize poison. Fox poisons don't guarantee that the animal will die.

Long Lasting Solution to Fox Problem
The main reason why killing foxes is not a good option is because they are territorial. Therefore killing one will trigger another to take over the territory. To real solution is to prevent them from the beginning. You can do this by making your home unattractive to foxes. Start by cutting off their food supply including, rats, mice, raccoons, squirrels and other tiny rodents. Second, dispose the garbage frequently to get rid of the animal. You can also fence your home using a sturdy wire-mesh if you are having repeated problems.
