The Most Effective Fox Repellants

Fox is a nuisance to people, and no one would like to have fox infestation in their compound. Some of the potential harms that the fox would cause include killing the chicken on your farm, they like hiding in the shed or deck, and their urine smell is bad. They are a safety concern to the pets and children, and also they spread diseases that are dangerous. Therefore it is important to make sure you don’t have the pet’s infestation issue in your home. This is mostly by repelling them away from your home. So how do you go about this?

First Get Rid of the Pest Diet Attractions in Your Compound
It is important to make sure your compound does not have the diet attractions that make fox come to your area. Therefore, start by getting rid of the food sources, and this will force them to go to look for food sources elsewhere. The most common place they could be coming to get food is where you dispose food leftovers and other edibles. Start by getting all that dirt pile away and clean your compound. It is recommended that you make sure all the dirt is moved and you stop disposing of dirt there. Once you do that, then take the repellants and apply around your compound. There are different types of repellants which include;

Taste Repellants
These include the hot pepper, the garlic, and also spicy spray which are also believed to be fox repellants that work effectively. Therefore you need to make the spray using these ingredients. To do this, you chop the hot pepper and onions, and all the ingredients into small pieces and boil them all together. Sieve the veggies out and pour the hot mixture into a spray bottle. The spray should be used on the hedges, and you make sure you have done that all around the house. Repeat the spraying once a week and make sure the spray smell can be heard. Whenever a fox tries to come to your compound, it will be kept away by the smell of pepper and the other ingredients. This is the reason why you must make sure the smell is concentrated enough. Remember that in case it rains, you must spray again when the hedge is dry.

Use Scent Repellants
The scent repellents are made from other very strong smelling substances like ammonia. These have a burning effect when smelled, and they are used especially when the fox issue is involving a notorious fox that does not feel the other repellents. The strong smell will give the fox an impression that there is another animal within the territory and therefore it will stay away. However, when using this repellant, it is advisable that you be careful with the children. It is better if you are using it in a large compound where the children cannot come close.

The electrical fence is another option that can be used to repel the fox. However, the electric fence should be used where no other animals like pets and most likely dogs are in the compound. Always wash your hands after using the scent and taste repellents.
