How to Keep Foxes Away from Your Property?

Foxes are truly amazing creatures, but nobody wants them in their property. They can be dangerous, attack your dog or your chicken and generally create a mess. Plus, they are not domesticated; so you would be at risk of getting attacked yourself. So you need to be very meticulous when it comes to keeping foxes away from your property.

What to Do to Keep Foxes at Bay?
First and foremost, you need to make sure that your garden is not approachable. This includes building a solid fence and making sure there are no entry holes. Even the tiniest hole can be enough for the fox to get inside. So be sure to eliminate all chances.

When cleaning the garden, check for anything that can act like shelter. For example, if there is a pile of wood somewhere, do not forget to deal with it. If you leave it like that, foxes might find shelter and hide from you. The same goes for leaves and other stuff or even very tall grass.

Then, you ought to equip the property with everything that can keep these elegant yet deadly pests away. There are special ultrasonic devices that deter foxes. They are great, and they do not mess with your own state of mind. With their LED lights, these devices seem like they are threatening the foxes. So foxes are kept away.

In addition, you can use repellents to prevent foxes from visiting your property. There are repellents in the market and ammonia has been proven to work, when soaked and left there to give out the smell through a piece of cloth.

Of course, if you wish to invest in long-term results, you should consider the use of live traps. In this way, you can entrap the fox and remove it. This is a humane approach that does not jeopardize the health state of the animal. At the same time, it leaves you with the desired peace of mind.

Finally, there are inclusion traps that you can use. As a result, you will be preventing foxes from getting inside the property again. Once they are out, you are done with them. Just make sure that all foxes have been removed from the property, prior to installing the inclusion traps.

Bottom Line
Foxes are really intelligent pests, and therefore you need to be careful, in order to outsmart them. Fortunately, there are quite a few different methods that you can use towards dealing with foxes in your property. You can scare them away, or you can make sure that they leave and never come back, through the proper preventive measures.

Whatever you do, do not attack them. If they feel threatened, it makes perfect sense that they will try to fight back. And due to their skills and anatomy, they can hurt you if they have to defend themselves.
