How Do You Know If You Have Flying Squirrels in Your Attic?

If you live in neighborhoods where squirrels thrive high up in the trees, they may invade homes. When they do, they may inflict damage to your attic. Since they live in families, it is not uncommon to find up to thirty squirrels in a single attic. Also, you can have one family of 6 members living up there. Signs of a Squirrel Infestation
If you live in a house with a closed roof, discovering their existence may be hard. However, look for nests in trees near any roof. You can also find them living in hollow openings in tree trunks. Occasionally, try to spot squirrels around the property.

One family of flying squirrels draws other, and soon territorial problems emerge. Each family will attempt to mark their territory by urinating and defecating in places they associate as theirs. For this reason, if you find dropping all over, it indicates that there are many squirrels all over the attic. Sometimes the amount of dropping will double, even triple as the squirrels try to outdo each other. Furthermore, the families will start fighting for territory. When this happens, you might hear running, and aggressive noises coming from the attic.

What Should You Do If You Have an Infestation?
Once you have ascertained that you have an infestation, seek the help of animal control experts. Squirrels can be big, fast and impossible to catch. Also, if you find, dropping all over it indicates that there are more animals to deal with. Sometimes that number may reach 30.
